Police continue to search for the person who shot an armored car employee at the Foxcroft Shopping Center in SouthPark. The incident involved a robbery of a Loomis armored car at a Wells Fargo ATM in the shopping center.
The armored car had two employees in it when one of them got out to service the ATM. That's when she was shot in the shoulder, police said.
The armored car was then on its way to the hospital when a 911 operator told them to pull over at the corner of Providence Road and Cavendish Court so the woman could receive medical attention.
Medic said that the victim was transferred to Carolinas Medical Center Main with life-threatening injuries.
Charlotte Country Day, which is nearby, was placed on lock down for about an hour after the shooting, at about 9 a.m.
