Drunk driver slams into UPENN security officer

Jeff Kiker - Monday, April 18, 2011
Phiadelphia PA  Two private security officers were injured by drunk drivers this week-end.
A University of Pennsylvania security officer currently is in stable condition after being hit by a car around 1:30 Friday morning according to police.

The 25-year-old officer was riding a bike near 38th and Walnut Streets when a driver, also a male, lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the UPENN officer, according to authorities.

Police say the victim hit the front windshield of the car and was taken to the Hospital at University of Pennsylvania where he is in stable condition.

The driver was arrested for a suspected DUI, police say.
The names of the officer and the driver has not been released by police yet.

A second security officer was on patrol in his company vehicle when a drunk driver smashed into his car.

Authorities in Fargo ND say that a private security guard was hurt when a wrong-way driver slammed head-on into his company car early this morning.

Police said that the security guard was hurt pretty bad while patrolling when the driver crashed into his patrol car pinning the security officer inside.

The accident happened in the 3200 block of Main Avenue in Fargo just after 2 a.m.

Naomi Kosen, 24, of Fargo was arrested for drunk driving. Kosen was treated for a minor head injury.

The security officer was transported to an area hospital.
