As reported in Private Officer International on February 13 2012, Department of Public Service officers in Smith County Texas, conducted a search warrant at Precinct 3, Constable Dustin Rust's office. As confirmed by Smith Conty District Attorney, Matt Bingham, multiple deputies were arrested after a lengthy investigation by the agency's Private Security Division. Sources are telling the Tyler Morning Telegraph that all of the office's computers were taken during the raid.
Deputy Constables Monty Ward, Thomas Burns, Mark Pierce, and Justin Stockwell will all be charged with operating a private security company without a license, a Class A misdemeanor.
Ward, Pierce, and Stockwell have already been arrested and charged, booked, and released from custody.
State authorities have also accused deputy constables of using equipment, gasoline and computers for their security business.
